We are excited to start a series titled, “Community Partner Spotlight,” where we share information about a community organization serving the needs of those impacted by trauma and related challenges.
This month, we are excited to highlight the work of Peace for DC, an organization founded by gun violence survivors and community activists. Peace for DC is a non-profit organization that provides funding and access to evidence-based and community-led interventions designed to prevent gun violence and support healing from trauma.
Programs they support, such as HEAL DC, provide comprehensive services including evidence-based therapy, case management, life skills classes, employment coaching, and career services. This commitment to effective programs that allow for both healing and long-term stability– all while being led by DC-based community and coalition building – is a key to Peace for DC’s success.
We are excited to promote two upcoming events that seek to build awareness of the impact of gun violence during June’s Gun Violence Awareness Month:

Wear Orange Gun Violence Awareness Community Event
